Emotional changes
It is completely normal that you have to experience certain changes in your life when you get sick. It’s not only different when it comes to leading a different life, and it will not hit you only physically, but also mentally.
Emotional changes are part of this disease, and it is not something you can change, you just have to learn to deal with it.
For example, you will often experience mood swings, and people will often find you very cranky and moody, but that’s ok, because no one expects from you to be all happy and cheery.
Your friends and family should be familiar with this, and so do you, because once they ( and you ) learn more about this, it will be easier for them to accept you and your emotional changes.
Depression is also really common when you are dealing with multiple sclerosis. Unfortunately a lot of people who are dealing with this disease will experience a huge depressive episode at a certain point of their life.
This is not only the symptom of this disease, but also a response to it. What is important in case you have MS or you know a person who is dealing with it, is to find out if that person or you had any family history of depression or even a personal history.
This is really important because people who had it, can be even more depressed and are definitely at greater risk, so you need to be prepared.
