Organic foods are the new IN. Organic foods are healthy for everybody irrespective of the age group. Since Organic Foods are regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture, they are grown without any pesticides, irradiation, artificial fertilizers or biotechnology. All the animals are raised on a healthy diet consisting of organic foods and are not confined any time. They are neither given any antibiotics or synthetic growth hormones.
Almost 70% of the Americans consider it worthwhile paying a little extra so that the farmers adhere to the ethical standards. Many researches have proved that organically grown healthy foods have more nutrients. Many people are left wondering when in the market when they see organic foods, conventional foods and healthy snacks. Example situation can be a tomato. Both the tomatoes look juicy and plump but one among them is labeled as organic while the other is not. The only difference between these both are that the tomato is not labeled would have been grown with the use of chemical pesticides so that they can keep the pests and plagues away. They also use chemical fertilizer to help the produce be better. And for animals, they use growth hormones, antibiotics or medication to prevent any form of illness and to encourage growth.
In other words, farmers engaged in organic foods promote soil and water conservation, reduce pollutions and also treating the animals ethically. To deal with problems of pests, organic farmers use insects, birds or traps, they make the use of manure or compost as fertilizers, rotate crops to manage weeds, give the animals a healthy diet consisting of mainly organic feed and they allow rotational grazing, clean housing to prevent diseases and promote healthy growth.
